Daniel Hegner of Bejin Bieneman PLC will speak on the convergence of federal court and PTAB decisions questioning functional language in patent claims. Mr. Hegner will address evolving challenges to functional claiming, tips for taking advantage of U.S. law permitting functional language, and functional-claiming pitfalls to avoid.

Mr. McCabe will address the ethics rules that apply to outsourcing time-intensive work such as document review and production, and the ways in which IP practitioners must conduct themselves when outsourcing work.
