Presentation: 4:15pm – 5:15pm
Wine Tasting and Hors D’Ouvres: 5:15pm – 6pm

Mr. Slattery will address alcoholism and its impact on the practice of law. His perspective is that even if we are not alcoholics ourselves, it is very likely that we at least represent one or work with other attorneys who are. Issues to be discussed include certain personality characteristics that alcoholics may have and the special problems that these characteristics may create in our professional lives.
Since 1996, Mr. Slattery has been a frequent lecturer on the issue of substance abuse for bar associations, law firms, insurance companies, state and county associations and agencies, universities, law schools, the US Army, the Southern District of Ohio US Attorney’s office, the Ohio Judicial College and anyone else who asks. He was a Board Member of the Alcoholism Council of the Cincinnati Area from 2001 to 2004 when he left that position to become a Trustee of the Hamilton County Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Board where he served until its merger with the Hamilton County Health Board in 2007. He has been a Board Member of the Hamilton County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board from its creation to the present time.
Mr. Slattery’s presentation will be followed by CincyIP’s Holiday Party, featuring hors d’ouvores and wine tasting.
